The myth says that the Portuguese introduced crocodiles into the Cumbarjua river which divided Hindu and Christian settlements to prevent communal differences. True or not, the crocodiles can still be found in the state and you can spend a day watching them and other local fauna. We’ll be sailing past cockle fishermen to a traditional Goan farm complete with its own fruit and vegetable plantation. There we’ll have a hot lunch before heading back via the backwaters spotting a variety of marshland creatures and other birdlife.
